We start by taking a look at that for the children below 18 months in age. When your child is still below age 18 months, experts advise that you keep them as far away as possible from computers. By far and large, a child below this age shouldn’t by any chance be allowed to use any of the computer devices, smartphones and tablets and the like devices that employ computer tech in general. This is mainly considering the fact that in the event that such young kids are granted access to computers and such like devices, you may have them seriously at the risk of developing some bad habits. Added to this is the fact that this as well impacts negatively their emotional and psychological development.

You may only consider allowing your child aged below 18 months to video chat with a close relative and this may only be allowed in the event that this is the only alternative you may be having left in so far as the need to communicate goes. Otherwise a child below a year and a half shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a computer.

The next group or age of kids to be looked at here are the toddling kids, those between the ages of 2 years and 5 years. Once your child has hit the 18 month age and s beyond it, you may now start bringing them up to speed steadily in the computer world. Oftentimes it is the case that kids at this stage of development will have a peculiar interest in watching TV and this will be quite apparent. But it is not advisable allowing them at these stages to spend as much time, sitting for extended periods of time before the screens more so on their own.
